This story starts back in 2012... I, Nicole Downing, started Nicole Downing Events with dreams and aspirations to run a successful event company one day. With no funds, store front, or connections, I decided that I needed more experience working for a company. I found a great start-up company to begin my events career and to this day, it was one of the best choices I ever made. I developed processes and customized packages to every single client that came through. After this position, I went on to obtain my Bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management and continued Nicole Downing Events as a Freelancer. Through the many Event Planners and venues I worked with, I am forever thankful for the perspective I now have today as a much more experienced planner. I thought that after dipping my toes in all sorts of events, I would know which niche I would like to pursue. Turns out, I loved them all!

Now here we are today and this dream of running a successful event planning service has not gone away. Being able to create these special and strategic experiences keeps me sticking around in this industry. Today I am starting a new brand with a quality team of five professionals.

 

'Valiance' means the qualities of a hero. During this re-branding process, I identified the qualities that my team represents. We develop unique relationships with our clients and perform strategically with our client in our best interest. Not only that, but we decided to add an extra "L" to our name; representing the love we truly have for our industry and your events. Our icon, the owl, reflects the same owl the Greek Goddess, Athena, had on her shoulder. Athena was blind in one eye and the owl would sit on her shoulder to be her sight on that blind side. Athena was a great goddess and very special- just like you. We have no doubt that you can and have produced your own events; but like many, you have too many tasks on your plate. Let us be your owl.
